BEST CABINET LATCHES FOR VAN LIFE | how to keep your cabinets shut in a van

Wondering what the best cabinet latches for van life are?

Maybe you didn’t even think about the fact you’ll need to figure out a way to keep your cabinets shut in your van conversion…

Speaking from experience, we know the feeling of driving down the road when a cabinet flies open and all your stuff falls out. It absolutely sucks!

So, we want to help you avoid this common pitfall of van life by installing the best cabinet latches. We’ve used and tested many RV latches for cabinets and drawers over the years and have found the best solution for keeping everything safely in your cabinets and drawers.

We use two different types of latches:

1) magnet latches

2) ball roller catch latches

MAGNET LATCHES

These magnet latches work great for upper cabinets that don’t need heavy duty ball latches to keep stuff inside. We found the 20 lbs rated latches work great for keeping uppers from flying open. If you have a larger cabinet, we’d recommend going with the 40 lbs rated magnet latches below.

BALL ROLLER CATCH LATCHES

These ball latches are perfect for van life. They aren’t plastic so they won’t break with use over time, and they are adjustable, which means if you have a super heavy drawer you’ll be able to adjust the tension to make sure it holds everything shut.
